See https://github.com/tarruda/zsh-autosuggestions/issues/118. This is worked around by setting ZSH_AUTOSUGGEST_CLEAR_WIDGETS+=(expand-or-complete), per the comment on that issue. Thanks to ericfreese for the quick and thorough response and supplied workaround.

Once you have it installed, generate a GIF with the following command:
