fennel compiling itself (with some help) to WASM

Fennel 0.4.1’s new --compile-binary flag, used in tandem with emscripten, to compile a bundle of itself and all lua/fennel it requires, with the lua vm, into WASM.

Why? Mostly because I wanted to see if it would be this straightforward!

The result is a clone of the Fennel launcher that can run in Node. That said, it can’t do any IO out of the box beyond printing and reading the initial args.

Once you have it installed, generate a GIF with the following command:
